Comprehensive technical achievements across database development, system integration, and project management.
SQL-Based Systems & Web Interfaces
Designed, developed, and implemented an SQL-based database for the Engineering Center at The University of Texas at El Paso. The database was tailored to meet the specific needs of the center, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and management. Additionally, developed a complementary website serving as the user interface, providing an intuitive platform for users to interact with and manage the data within the system.
Campus-Wide Scheduling Database
Led the extraction, structuring, and consolidation of data to create a comprehensive Campus-Wide Scheduling Database that aggregated class registration data from the university each semester. Developed and implemented a script to identify and remove duplicate entries and resolve scheduling conflicts, significantly enhancing the integrity and reliability of the dataset. The structured data was then converted into visualizations to streamline the decision-making process and improve the efficiency of campus-wide support services.
Q-SYS & iOS Classroom Control
Designed and developed a Q-SYS system for controlling audiovisual systems within classrooms across campus. This system provided a centralized platform for managing audio, video, and other media devices. Collaborated closely with team members during testing and maintenance phases to ensure system reliability and performance. Additionally, installed and optimized network switches to support Ethernet-based control solutions, enabling remote management and enhancing operational efficiency.
Worked on cleaning and updating the code for an iOS application used to control lighting, video displays, and audio systems in classrooms and auditoriums. The updates improved system stability, user experience, and ensured compatibility with various devices within the classroom environment.
Managed the planning and scheduling of multiple concurrent projects designed to address technological gaps within the department. This included developing innovative solutions to enhance the university's technological infrastructure. Conducted client consultations to gather user feedback, identify scenarios, and define project requirements. Additionally, continuously developed and refined Extended Reality (XR) software, with applications in both education and industry, providing cutting-edge solutions each semester.
Coded and developed the underlying logic for several cloud-based functions that were integral to the basic functionality of a widely publicized application. This involved the integration of third-party API keys, webhooks, and leveraging extensive documentation to ensure seamless interaction between the cloud infrastructure and the application, enhancing its performance and user experience.
Game Development Studio Co-Founder
Co-founded and managed an industry-standard game development studio, fully operated by college students. In this role, was responsible for overseeing resource allocation, budgeting, and training initiatives aimed at developing industry-relevant skills among team members. Also led the research and development efforts to ensure the studio's work adhered to professional standards, and collaborated in the development of active game deployments, contributing to the studio's continued success and growth.
